What Causes Stiffness In The Legs While Walking?

I have this strange feeling in my legs when I walk. They feel like I have cement in each leg and are hard to lift to walk. Although I try to walk as much as possible, but it hurts to do it. I take medicine for blood pressure and for my circulation as well. Could they be causing this problem? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You have to rule out peripheral vascular disease and neuropathy for your symptoms. For that color Doppler investigation can be done. Moreover it's advisable to do your detailed neurological examination as well.

According to cause specific treatment given. I suggest you to check your serum blood sugar, serum TSH and serum Vitamin B12 estimation to rule out neuropathy by diabetic, hypothyroid, and Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
