What Causes Stiffness In The Neck After Colouring The Hair?

Hi! I m 26 years old, female. I ve been using permanent hair color for almost 7 years now and also has a background in haircoloring since i studied it. But 3 years ago, after coloring my hair i felt stiffness in my neck, to the point that i can t move it. This has been happening every time i color my hair. Is this an allergic reaction? Or should i already have myself checked? Thanks. Hope to hear from you soonest.

As per your query you have stiffness in the neck after colouring the hair. Well it is very important to find out the exact cause of neck stiffness and correct it . Neck stiffness can occur due to may reasons like muscle strains , nerve compression , Injuries ,diseases, cervical spondylosis and Certain diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis . In your case the symptoms probably occur due to allergic reaction due to hair color. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor will examine physically , ask you to do certain movements and may order CT scan . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant and may recommend specific exercises . For now do stretching exercises and start physical therapy of neck . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy . Take antihistamine like benadryl twice a day.
