What Causes Stiffness In The Neck Along With Back Ache?

Woke up 2 days ago with a stiff neck. Thought I had just slept on it wrong but by the next day, was not any better. Can move it from front to back with minimal pain but can not move sideways at all. Painful in back of neck and tendons on the side behind my ears

Hi,
Thanks for writing your query.
After reading your post, it seems that you might be having muscle spasm or it can be due to cervical spondylosis.
I would advise that you should take a pain killer and a muscle relaxant for relief from your symptoms.
If the symptoms persists, get yourself clinically examined and investigated by an Orthopaedician.
Hot fomentation and application of pain relieving gel will be helpful.
