What Causes Stiffness In The Neck And Dizziness?

About 5 weeks ago, I woke up with a stiff neck. A week after that (4 weeks ago), I felt very lightheaded. I ve been to the doctor 4 times and they ve ruled out vertigo. The lightheadedness is becoming a continuous dull pain in my head and the neck pain is no better. I m waiting on a referral to see a neuro/spine specialist. Any idea on what is causing this? I m worried about a stroke especially, but my blood pressure is normal and they ran an EKG on me a couple weeks ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to vertigo. The symptoms are possibly related to inner ear issues. I suggest you to consult an ORL specialist for further evaluation.

Meanwhile, you can use Meclizine tablet daily for temporary relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
