I have had a stiff neck for a month now - it seems to move from side to side - one day on the right next on the left - sometimes just in the middle at the back. I am taking anti inflame. pills - but they don t seem to be working. can you help. I take two pills a day for high blood pressures, four fish oil pills and one Vit. D. pill daily.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

The most common cause of neck stiffness is degenerative spinal disease, chronic changes of the vertebral column which often are associated with muscle spasms.

Anti-inflammatory pills are fine, I would suggest adding also a muscle relaxant like Flexeril.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
