What Causes Stiffness In The Thumb Joint?

Hi, I have a slight issue with my right thumb joint, it s quite stiff, especially when I m not using it much. I m naturally left-handed, I haven t injured it in anyway to my knowledge. My job is gardening, so I rely on my hands daily. It feels like a nagging pain, that won t go away, should I be concerned? If it s any help I m 28 with no family history of arthritic conditions as far as I know. Thank you.

Hello,

As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and get evaluated. In that case, we have to rule out possible causes like arthritis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
