What Causes Stinging Sensation And Bleeding After Holding Urine?

Yes thank you. I went for a two mile walk and found myself needing to go to the bathroom very bad on my way home. By the time I got home I was grunting and trying to hold my urine in. After I have finished I noticed there was a stream of blood. Later I went back to the bathroom and this time no sign of blood, but there was a stinging sensation at the end of my penis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Blood and discomfort on urination may indicate an infection of some aspect of the urinary tract .
This may involve one or more areas of the urinary tract: kidneys, ureter, urethra, prostate or bladder.

Urine analysis at your doctors office would determine if an infection is present.

Other causes of blood in the urine would be :(a)stone in the urinary tract (b)trauma (c) kidney disease (d)blood disorder

I hope this helps
