Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About two days ago I noticed a pressure like stinging as I finished urinating. I also have sudden intense urges to urinate and when I do go I get the same pressure like sting when I finish. My stream is also very weak. I thought it might be a UTI so Ive been drinking plenty of water. I am a 26 year old woman. I also can not afford to go see a doctor nor do I have medical insurance.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It seems you are suffering from urinary tract infection. You need to take antibiotic course. The antibiotic to be given will depend on the result of your Urine culture.
Generally, tablet Norflox 400 is prescribed. Consult your physician for prescription. Drink lots of water. Take syrup alkasol mixed with water to alkalanize the urine. Cranberry juice is also beneficial in UTI.
If you are not relieved, you may need to consult an Urologist who may advise an USG for further information.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
