Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, I ve had a problem with urination for a bit now . I have found myself trying to relieve myself too often in a day as my bladder not feeling empty. This past week the problem seems to have got worse and have a stinging sensation when urinating and trying to empty my bowel. I also am experiencing a bit or urine incontinence. My father has the same problem and started about my age 32 and my grandma also had the same problem. What could this possibly be and could this sort of problem be inherited?
As per my clinical experience, the stinging sensation while urinating does indicate possible issue of urinary tract infection with or without underlying calculus or gravels in the urinary system. There is no concern of hereditary issue causing such symptoms in any manner.
The initial diagnostic work up includes: - Urine microscopy - Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis - Complete hemogram - Serum urea and creatinine levels - GFR
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
