Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently had the implant in about a month ago. On two occasions I have had sex and had extremely bad stomach pains afterwards. The first time I came on my period a few days after so I thought the pains could have been pre menstruated. However this happened the second time and I then went extremely dizzy when I stood up after oral sex. Do you have any idea what this could be? Thanks.
1. Some women do experience abdominal pain after sex as orgasms often cause uterine contractions & hence stomach cramps.
2. Prostaglandins(found in the semen) released during penetration, in some women act as irritants triggering uterine contractions & hence stomach pain & cramps.
3. If you are already infected with PID, you may get abdominal pain post penetrative sex.
4. It is also caused by UTI or STD.
Get physically examined. Get CBC, Urinalysis & C/S urine along with STI tests done. Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.
Get treated. Perform safe sex & stay away from multiple sexual partners.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
