What Causes Stomach Ache Along With Appetite Loss?
My 6 almost 7 ur old son got up last Saturday morning and said his stomach hurt. Later he couldn t keep anything down or in so he hasn t eaten really since from lack of food he has lost weight very frail is constantly sleeping can t seem to stay awake for long and for the 2nd day now his stomach is hard a little distended and when I touch or try to rub it he says it hurts and he can not lay on his stomach for sleeping either..sorry I know that s all info not a question but wanted u to know the background of what was going on.

Sorry to know about the condition of your son.
Abdominal pain with slight distension,appetite loss,failure to gain weight in children can be due inflammatory bowel disease/hepatitis/intestinal parasites.
If I were your treating doctor ,I recommend,
-Taking the child to paediatrician.His physical examination and certain investigations like blood haemogram,USG abdo,liver function test,stool analysis will be required.
Colonoscopy may be required for diagnosing inflammatory bowel disease.Further management depends upon results of investigations.
-Give him small frequent meals as he has appetite loss.
-Maintain hydration by plenty intake of water.
Give semi soft cooked and fresh food to eat.
-De worming therapy can be given by Tab Albendazole 400 mg one dose.
