What Causes Stomach Ache And Vomiting After Consuming Alcohol?
I'm a 25 yr old white female and have been having very strange reactions to alcohol lately. I almost want to say that I've become allergic to it, all kinds, beer, wine, liquor. I'll go to the bar and have half a glass of wine with dinner and be perfectly fine when I go to bed. I'll wake up in the morning with a little tummy ache and with in an hour i'm puking. This usually lasts untill around noon and then i'm perfectly fine again. When I do puke, its mostly dry heaving or just yellowish bile from my stomach. I also get very "burby" and often get the hiccups. I'll feel MUCH better after vomiting but then within the hour i'll start feeling very sick again. The worst reaction is with beer followed by wine and then hard liquor. I've never been a heavy drinker and am not on any medications other that Birth Control and i'm an active healthy person. Any suggestions as to what this is and why it happened over night?
Alcohol stimulates digestion. AND with lying down, food contents have a tendancy to go up the esophagus (reflux) this is increased by alcohol because it lowers the tone of the top of the stomach.
