What Causes Stomach Cramps And Diarrhea After Taking Toradol Injection?

I had a toradol injection on Thursday. Immediately that evening I had extreme cramping, then extensive diarrhea for all night. I am feeling fatigued and my bowel movements are numerous during the day. I also feel that I m still not completely emptied from my colon. Will this go away in time?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I do not think diarrhea is from Toradol injection.

Now, we should analyze first why was Toradol prescribed for?

If it was for lower back or abdominal pain, I think this pain was a warning sign for incoming gastroenteritis onset.

This diarrhea might be due to acute illness (viral infection of bowels). You should take:
- increased fluids especially plain water with oral rehydration salts to replace lost electrolytes
- tasectan or pepto bismol for diarrhea
- probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
