What Causes Stomach Cramps Post Hernia Surgery?

I had major stomach reconstruction and horizontal mesh belt inserted in 2014 to repair botched incision stomach hernia surgery. Once every few months while sitting down, I get a shooting spasm or cramp for a minute. It repeats itself a couple of times and then goes away. What is going on? What is best way to ease attack? Rub area? Push it in? Lean back? Bend over?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a general surgeon and get evaluated. An ultrasound abdomen can be done to rule out bowel related problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
