I had diverticulitis, the dr. gave me antibiotics, I took them for ten days, after the first day I had such stomach pains that the druggist suggested that I take a probiotic 2 hours after the antibiotic. I did so, was beginning to feel good, eating regulary, took the last antibiotic this morning, but did not follow two hours later with the probiotic. today I have had discomfort in my stomach(light pain) and have hada few bowel movements, formed, but have those pains and discomfort in my stomach. should I take the probiotic ???? oor some Tylenol !!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of known Diverticulitis, taking antibiotics for 10 days and probiotics as suggested by the druggist.
Now is the 10 th day and have still have pain and discomfort in the abdomen and few well formed bowel movements.
Yes you should take and continue probiotics, and it seems that you need to have a review of the clinical examination by a General Surgeon and CT scan to see if it is due to diverticulitis or something else.
This will help to get a proper diagnosis of the present condition, and a plan for further treatment.
