What Causes Stomach Distention, Legs, Ankles And Feet Swelling With Breathlessness, Weakness?

my dad aged 68, had a huge stomach, seems full of water, swollen legs akles and feet, been like this about a month, within last few days got weaker, water around stomach seems to be pushing up under his lungs, shortness of breath and falling asleep, seems hard fo him to speak, drs have said its something serious with the stomach of liver, blood test done over a week ago but heard nothing on them yet

Yes it is something serious and you need to follow up the reports . Apart from blood tests he needs Ultrasound Abdomen Pelvis and 2D ECHO scan to see whether the problem is in his LIver or Heart .

BUt both Liver or Heart conditions causing the symptoms in your father means it is in advanced stage and he even requires an admission to the hospital .
