What Causes Stomach Pain After Taking Keflex And Benadryl In Children?

Daughter went to ER for a spider bit that had caused that area to swell and turn red. She was suffering pain and a tingly. Had a bad headache and notice another raised bump. When first bit it was red and looked like a mosquito bite. The doctor saw her for a minute and prescribed Keflex. And also had her take Benadryl and sent her home. My daughter has no allergies to anything. She is home but still suffering the same symptoms and now added to that is she is complaining her stomach hurts. Should a get a second doctors diagnosis? His was Insect Bite and she is fine

Welcome to health care magic,

The medicines are given to your daughter keflex (cephalexin) and benadryl are not known to cause stomach pain or any other symptoms.

It can be due to acute gastriris or gasteroenteritis which needs to be evaluated further if troublesome by some routine blood works and relevant tests.

If the symptoms is not severe then she can be given over the counter analgesics,antispasmodics and antacids for couple of days and check the response.

In case symptom persist,i would advise you to see doctor and get thoroughly examined.
