What Causes Stomach Pain And Dizziness After Taking Motrin?

My 7 year old has had a fever for about a week. Last Thursday it was 100, Friday was 102.4 and treated with Motrin. Saturday 102.6 and treated with motrin. She complains of a tummy ache and dizziness when she has the fever. After Motrin, those symptoms decrease. She doesn t have a good appetite but is eating a little. She continued the same until Monday morning when her fever was up to 103.2. I took her to her pediatrician who said she just had some sort of virus and it would have to run its course. It is now a week and her fever this morning was 101.8. She doesn t have any vomiting or diarrhea.

Hello,

The symptoms of your child seem to be related to a viral infection, so I agreed with your doctor. The tummy ache and dizziness can be related to the viral infection.

So, I suggest giving Motrin or Tylenol to relieve the fever. I also suggest giving her liquids and rehydration solutions such as Pedialyte solution.

I recommend rest and eating a plain diet with small frequent portions. The symptoms will relieve gradually.
