What Causes Stomach Pain And Nausea Post Intake Of Metoprolol?
My husband is on metoprolol sic image XL 50 mg. The doctor just started him on this. Before he was on metoprolol (lopressor) 25mg. He was complaining about stomach pain and nausea so that is why they wit he d him. Is this better? The side affects still says stomach pain and nausea
These are not the usual side effects of metoprolol. Usual side effects include- dizziness, fatigue, constipation, diarrhea, shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing, skin rashes, temporary mental confusion, blurry vision, short-term memory loss, reduced sex drive or loss of interest in sex.
He needs an abdominal ultrasound and works up for his pain abdomen and nausea. His dose was increased from 25 mg to 50 mg, probably because of poor control achieved with that dose. Report to your clinician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
