This antibiotic (Monocef or Ceftriaxone) can, with some patients, cause abdominal discomfort. It is not uncommon for the medication to induce nausea and even vomiting by itself, however some other concerns also are of note. It can, although uncommon, cause inflammation of the pancreas, called pancreatitis, which presents as abdominal pain directly above the belly button. In either event, if this discomfort worsens you do need to seek medical attention as if it is caused by pancreatitis this needs urgent treatment. As far as a recommended diet is concerned, a BRAT diet: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast, is an appropriate option until the discomfort subsides.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
