Hi. I was wondering what might be the cause of stomach pain in the upper and lower stomach region. The real trick is that I only encounter while I'm sleeping. I hold a pretty constant sleep pattern and this pain/discomfort wakes me up at the same time every night/morning causing loss of sleep. I usually take two Advil and wait 15-30mins and fall back to sleep.

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. As you getting stomach pain which sleeping in night and in early morning it is a sign of peptic ulcer disease.Advil (ibuprofen) can worsen the condition or even the cause of it.So it is better to rule out That by physical examination and a fibrogastroduodenoscopy if needed. For Peptic ulcer disease i treat with Proton pump inhibitors like Rabeperazole and sucralfate which gives protective covering for ulcer.A strict diet which excluding fried and oily foods, spicy foods and alcohol are advised .Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
