What Causes Stomach Pain?

My daughter is 5 years old and has been experiencing headaches, coughing, high temperatures of 103 and chills, and lower abdominal pain. She has slept a lot for the past 3 days and woke up feeling a little better this morning. After about 3-4 hours of playing and doing well, she s now crying and complaining that her lower stomache is hurting and her private area. I was thinking that maybe a bladder infection was possible but she s not going to the bathroom frequently. I was also thinking constipation because of the childrens advil she has taken of the past few days to lower her temperature. Any ideas?

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi... I understand your concern. By what you say I feel that your kid is recovering from a simple viral illness. The possibilities here are -

1. Pain related to constipation.
2. Cystitis or inflammation of the urinary bladder.
3. Extremely rare for the pain to occur in that region but gastritis is still a possibility.
