Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I ve been experiencing something where I don t want to eat because my stomach hurts so bad I might throw up aka i have an unwillingness to. in the past 2 weeks I ve only eaten small dinners, fruit for breakfast, and totally skipped lunch at school. Any idea how to help?
Loss of appetite and vomiting warrants detailed evaluation to rule out liver disease like jaundice or hepatitis and stomach disease like acid peptic disease due to stomach hyperacidity or gastric ulcer.
I would advise you to take antiacidity medicine like pantoprazole or ranitidine group of drugs with antacids and multivitamin supplement with glucose water and lots of fluids.
If it doesn't help than I would advise you for a battery of investigation like CBC, liver function test, an ultrasound or endoscopy if need be. Meanwhile avoid fatty fried spicy and junk food, have lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and dietary fiber in your diet. Avoid stress and anxiety by relaxation exercises and living a happy and cheerful life.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask for follow up question and I will gladly answer you.
Best wishes, Dr. B R Hudda
