What Causes Stools To Be Dark Green With Yellow Flakes?
Hi all, I'm chitra, mother of 4 months old baby. My baby poops dark green in color with some yellow flakes in it. He poops daily and looks normal while pooping. Meanwhile he's 5.5 kg in weight and always happy. He's been both breastfed and formula-fed. I give him Farex formula -1 which has almost 7 mg of iron in 1 litre of formula dilution. Dilution composition is 900ml of water + 128g of formula. Will this be an cause for his stool color? He's been pooping in this color since 5 weeks. When i checked with ped.Doc, he told its normal. but i'm worried of this because My husband suffers from cronic pancreatitis since 5 years. Please advice..Thanks in advance.
hello i have read your query.baby's stools may regularly change in consistency and colour too, going from soft and mustard-yellow in colour to yellow with green specks, and then back again the next day. This is completely normal. If your baby's stools are green and frothy he may be taking in too much lactose (the natural sugar found in milk).Make sure your baby finishes feeding from one breast before offering her the other. If the symptoms last longer than 24 hours, consult your GP to try to find the source of the problem. in your case it seems normal. you don have to worry about.it doesnt seem anything related to your husbands problem. hope this ans helps.take care
