What Causes String Like Discharge And Constant Pain In Abdomen During Pregnancy?

hi im 17 weeks pregnant and just noticed one strand of string like discharge about 1 1/2 cm long? should I be concerned? I also have slight pain between my hip and lower stomach its not a constant man just a slight somewhat sharp pain ever now and then. I have no bleeding and am not sure if its just stretching pain ?
