What Causes Stringy Pus In An Abscess On Buttocks?

Evening,

I recently discovered an abscess on my butt check. It burst about 3 days ago and now what I believe is pus is coming out from it. I spoke to a doctor who recommended sitting a warm bath to flush it out. but I was wondering how the pus should look. It seems very stringy like fat tissue. Is this correct

Hi, your history suggest more of staphylococcus abscess, highly muciod, hazy material, with or without blood tinged, suggestive of pus.
the infected region region feels more like fat tissue.
if i were your treating doctor, then i would advise
1) sitz's bath with warm water.
2) antibiotics to fasten recovery i.e amoxicillin group will be effective.
3) adequate hygiene, using antiseptic soap would help.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
