What Causes Strong Acidic Smell In Urine?

Hi. Dr rynne. I am experience a very strong acidic smell with my urine. What could be causing this? I have also been gaining some weight recently when I think I should be losing. Thank you for any light you can shed on these concerns. Minnie H.

Hello. I have gone through your question. Acidic smell in urine can be due to dehydration and urine infections especially in women.It is also seen in women during menopause which is also associated with weight gain. I would like to know if you are in your menopause? Otherwise drink lots of water and get your urine routine and microscopy test done for infections. Hope this helps. Thanks and regards.
