What Causes Sudden Acute Pain In Upper Back, Shoulder And Left Ear?
what is cause of sudden acute pain and stiffness in left, upper back shoulder area accompanied by pain , stiffness right up the left neck to below left ear. This also accompanied by sore throat on left area of throat as well... Also felt breathing became difficult. Found it difficult to lie down or sit down. I took two Disprin and rubbed some Voltarol gel on the sore/numb areas which has alleviated the terrible pain somewhat but not fully...

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in upper right of the back which is going worse . Well there can be many reason for symptoms you mention in query like muscle spasm of back . pain due to trigger points of trapezius muscle , cervical spondolysis , shoulder joint problem , cardiac problem or lymphadenopathy . I would suggest you to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and swelling , do light stretching exercises of upper back and shoulder , apply warm compresses on affected area or start physical therapy of back . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order X-ray or CT scan . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with supplements . Doctor may also refer you to cardiologist for condition like angina.
