General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sudden stoppage of breathing in asthma patient is due to severe bronchospasm.&redness of face indicates that. The raised carbon dioxide in blood caused stimulation of respiratory center in brain so she recovered. She needs examination by a chest specialist &improved medication for bronchodialation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
