What Causes Sudden Appearance Of Bruise On Arm?

Hi. I looked down at my hand today and noticed what looked like a quarter size bruise. It wasn t there earlier in the day, and I had not done anything to injure the area. I was confused as to where this had come from, but even more perplexed when only a few hours later the bruise was completely gone. ??

Hello,

A few causes of spontaneous bruises are low platelet counts, trivial trauma unnoticed, usage of blood thinners and anticoagulants, vitamin C, K deficiency, bleeding disorders or various autoimmune diseases. However, your bruise appeared and disappeared spontaneously. Therefore, you need not worry, as it is not associated with any other features like high fever, continuous bleeding etc.

If you keep on experiencing such spontaneous bruises frequently like 4-5 times a week then consult a physician. Otherwise, there is no need of any intervention.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
