Woke up this morning all was fine. However i suddenly had a pain come down the left side of my upper body and back and slightly in my chest. I sat down for 20 minutes and the pain seemed to disappear, however when i was walking to school the pain came back and every time i walk the pain starts to hurt again. Also when i bend down to pick somehting up off of the floor my chest goes tight and when i move my upper body it goes tight aswell. I am 15, no chest pains this bad before.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Chest pain can occur due to cardiovascular diseases, lung diseases, diseases of musculoskeletal system or gastrointestinal system. Gastritis or reflux disease can cause chest pain so it is important to rule out gastrointestinal (GIT) diseases before looking for other causes. If the pain is associated with regurgitation, GIT problems have to be considered. Assessment of cardiovascular system is required to rule out ischemic heart disease. Ischemic heart disease is disease of elderly, however, it can occur in young individuals also. Thus, I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for examination of cardiovascular system. A X-ray chest is also required to look for status of lungs.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
