Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband just very suddenly broke out into a cold sweat and feels very nauseas. Prior to this episode he had a severe leg cramp. He got up to go to the bathroom and I heard him fall. When I went to see he said he tripped on omething but now I wonder if he passed out. Any ideas?
After reading your post, it seems that your husband might have suffered from vasovagal attack. This can be triggered by severe pain. This can result in sudden decrease of blood pressure leading to decreased blood supply to brain resulting in unconsciousness and sweating and nausea.
You should get his blood pressure and heart rate monitored. Also get an ECG done. Also take care of his diet.
Whenever such a problem arises, the patient should be lied down with head end slightly lower. This increases the blood flow to the brain resulting in removal of symptoms.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
