What Causes Sudden Cough And Breathing Difficulty After Having Soup?
My male friend tasted some broth I had made, and immediately started coughing, stated he couldn t breath, throat closed . Said this has happened before, I tried the himleich, thinking he had something stuck in his throat. What do you feel caused this. YYYY@YYYY

The symptoms described resemble a laryngospasm.
As you have described it to have occurred post ingestion of the broth, then the cause is mostly due to that.
Laryngospasm can be an allergic reaction to the contents of the broth. Your friend will have to visit an Immunologist to assess his predisposing factor to allergic reactions/anaphylaxis.
If left unattended, he could develop worse reactions following exposure to the allergen, like wheeze, flushing, rash, hoarse voice or chest tightness, for which immediate medical intervention will be required.
