What Causes Sudden Diarrhea And Abdominal Cramps?

Abrupt attack of stomach cramps and diarrheal. I barely make it to toilet in morning. Starts to subside with white rice and chicken broth, while taking Imodium today. Yesterday took peptobismal all day diarrhea subsided in Eve but woke to it again in morn. Do I hav a stomach bug, or Gould I be checked by a doctor for further treatment also feels like I don t empty completely after a bowel movement and have to go again 5-10 minutes later
