Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a female & 55 years old. I am having problems with my bowel, when I go to the toilet I m unable to pass a stool and it is painful when I push. It feels like there is a blockage. I have had to rock back & forth on the toilet to make a stool come out, for quite a while but now even that doesn t work. Can you help please.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take proper rest and avoid intake of any sharp, spicy and oily food. If condition doesn't get well then consult pediatrician for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole along with laxative. You should take oral rehydrating solution in diet. You should take antacid after every meal , take small and frequent meal. You should take over the counter anti histamine twice a day like benadryl. You should avoid lying down immediately after having food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
