Thank you for your query.
Would you please clarify a few things for me?
1)how old is he?
2)is he a diabetic, hypertensive or hyperlipidemic? Any history of stroke?
3)any history of
heart disease or
thyroid imbalances?
4) is he on any medication?
5)has he had any injury to the head or ear? Any recent throat or
ear infection, or cold?
His symptoms could result from problems with the heart (
heart attack, irregular heartbeat, too fast or too slow a hear rate),
blood circulation (poor circulation to the brain due to clots or bleeding),
inner ear problems (this affects balance and cause giddiness which is pronounced with change in head position, and
cervical spondylosis (narrowing of the space between the bones in the neck, which on movement especially extension, can compromise circulation to the posterior part of the brain)
Low blood sugar can lead to giddiness as well.
I recommend you take him to the ER right away to rule out the serious causes. This is vital, as the sooner he gets treated the better are his chances of an uneventful recovery.
Have someone help you out In mobilizing him or call an ambulance. He may lose balance and you will not be able to support him on your own.
Hope I've helped.
Please get back to us if you have further questions.
Wish you both good health
