What Causes Sudden Elevation In Blood Sugar Level?

Sir, I am 56+ having average fasting BS 115 and PP BS 145 for last 2years. I was taking vose 3 Mg for 2 yrs. Last week, my pp sugar rose to 180 and doc has prescribed istamet 50+1000 - 1 tab daily. My BP remains around 135/82which measured 156/90 last week. Doc prescribes Telma 40. Kindly advise.

Hi. You were well controlled with voglibose for a period of 2 years. But, diabetes is a progressive disease and most patients need more medications over a period of time. The drugs prescribed by your doctor are standard and I'd also advise you to continue that. There is one more thing I'd ask if you were my patient: Since both sugar and blood pressure have shot up at almost the same time, do you have any stress or anxiety? If so, I'd add an anti anxiety medication. Trust that answers your question.
