What Causes Sudden Fainting With Stiff Arms And Mumbling?
My son and I were at the hospital where my friend was there for treatment. My son fainted while seated on a chair then had stiff arms and was mumbling.. I grabbed him and brought him back up he woke up and was fine.. after getting shot boosters last year he fainted well after getting shots...he said he got grossed out about the nurse putting stuff in my friends IV. Should I be concerned that this is a seizure vs anxiety fainting
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Seizure or fainting should always be investigated. In most children, the cause is always metabolic like low glucose, low sodium, calcium or magnesium. It could also be due to a brain development abnormality, injury or infection even though less likely in your child. I will suggest you see a Neurologist for investigation even if the child is doing great now.A serum electrolyte, a brain CT scan and electroencephalogram and a fasting blood sugar may be requested to investigate the cause. The treatment of the condition will be with respect to the underlying cause. Hope this will help Regards
