What Causes Sudden Fever, Vomiting And Stomach Pain In A Child?

My son is almost 4. He got a sudden fever yesterday of 103. About 6 hours later he threw up twice. He has maintained a low grade fever all day today and acted well this evening hus fever is up to 101.4, he isn t sleeping well and he says he tummy hurts. I also noticed a light flat ran on his torso and back

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of sudden fever, vomiting and stomach pain which seems to be due to acute gastroenteritis. It seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole and probiotic.You should take Probiotics such as lactobacillus as well. Maintain hydration of child well. Give curd in diet. Start giving oral rehydration fluids sip by sip to maintain the hydration. Visit pediatrician once and get it examined. You should go for blood tests as well and start treatment after proper examination. you should give Ibuprofen to child along with proton pump inhibitors as well.
