What Causes Sudden Flare Up Of Gout While On Amoxicillin And Benadryl?

I have been taking Allopurinol for gout for about 3 weeks and have been gout free however the last week I have been taking Amoxycillin and using Benadrill for a sore throat. Yesterday I had a severe flare up of gout which I still have. I was told when I started the Allopurinol I may have a flare up so I was wondering if it was caused by the Allopurinol, Amoxycillin or the Benadrill?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns

Recurrence of gouty attack is common due to incomplete duration of treatment.
Benadryl and amoxicillin mostly have no relation to this flare up.

If I was treating your case in my clinic , I will advise the patient to receive colchicine for the acute attack for 3 weeks and Allopurinol in between the attacks for another 3 weeks .
I find this answer helpful
