My 93 yr old mother has wide variations in blood pressure over several hours often. She s on enalapril, tiazac, and amiodarone. Moments ago 195/90. Other times, 100/50. What is the cause? What can I do for fast remedy ,when too high or too low?
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM I have read and understood your concern The secrets to having BP under control are Good diet control(low salt)/life style modifications adapted for people with high blood pressure and taking BP medicines well.Ocassional variations are possible and may be due to stress, physical activity and others. Since her BP is normal now, i will advise you just stay calm. Taking medications well will help.However, if BP values become too high despite taking medications, you see the Doctor for evaluation.
