Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a hacking cough with wheezing which came on suddenly on Sunday and remained until yesterday when it stopped as abruptly as it started. Visited my PCP yesterday when I was diagnosed with pneumonia and given a steroid shot in my backside. The cough has not occurred since that shot. I spoke with their office this AM and was advised that the Xray taken did not indicate pneuemonia and not to take the antibiotic that was prescribed. They were unable to give me an explanation of what had caused this. Can you? I would very much like to have an answer that my doc couldn t give me. Thank you so very much for your time.
This might be due to some allergic reaction that have caused a narrowing in your airways and got relieved with a shot of steroid. You have to look for the possible trigger for that allergic reaction around you. You might need a doctor again if it could happen again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sameen Bin Naeem, General & Family Physician
