What Causes Sudden Instability In The Legs And Dizziness?

my husband became unstable and his legs gave out and he fell to the floor, this happened a few times and between last night and this morning. Gets dizzy. He is 59, not overweight, takes high blood pressure med., cholesterol md, nothing new. Possible having a stroke?

The possibilities here are -
1. Acute Cerebellitis - Probably post viral.
2. ADEM - Acute demyelinating encephalomyelitis.
3. An acute stroke.

He will need immediate medical attention and MRI brain with and without contrast, please.
