Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Loss Of Consciousness With Chest Pain?
I am having episodes where I feel as though I am going to pass out-similar feeling to holding my breath-it is followed by racing heartbeat(possibly from panic)- occasionally some chest pain follows--the feelings seem concentrated in my head and neck area--I usually check my sugar, pulse, blood pressure after one of these and find them only slightly elevated if at all - none have resulted in actual loss of consciousness
The most probable cause I can think about such incidence can be one of the following: Actual panic attack, stress and/or anxiety. Any heart ailments. Problem with brain. Hence you need the following: Consult your Doctor for full clinical evaluation, examination and relevant investigations like tests of blood, urine, stool, Ultrasonography of abdomen and X-ray chest. Optional will be CT scan of brain and full cardiac evaluation. If all the tests and investigations are normal then this may be treated as panic attack and then you need an opinion of a Psychiatrist and further management. If a certain disease is found then its treatment will cure you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
