What Causes Sudden Loss Of Sensation In Right Arm And Elbow?

I m a waitress, and need my hands badly! Well last Friday (it s Sunday now) around nine o clock, my right arm elbow down, fell asleep while I was writing. When I was able to get it to wake up it a bomb, dulled and dead sensation. It took hours for me to even be able to grasp anything ,I would reach up to adjust my glasses and end up hitting myself in the forehead. Lol. Now though it s not so funny, I can t hold things at all. I have some ability to hold a glass of coke if I bend my hand inwards on itself but then it s still shaky and I look like a trex with a mental condition, and the dull throb had made it all the way up my shoulder, ideas?? --Aaleyah Rayne

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Aaleyah.

I admire your sense of humor, but you will have to visit a doctor as any mild cause like a vitamin B deficiency should not cause a presentation for this long. A detailed blood panel along with a check on your nerves in your arm and spine region may be required. Please visit a physician or a neurologist preferably.

Best wishes Aaleyah
