Other causes of rapid weight loss including hyperthyroidism, chronic infection like tuberculosis, inflammatory disorders, diabetes should also be considered. You will need complete physical examination, chest Xray, complete blood count, ESR, complete metabolic profile and thyroid function test done at this point .
