What Causes Sudden Nosebleed In An Elderly Person?
I am 89 years old and for the third time in the past several months I have had sudden nose bleeds without warning , with the nose bleed (rignt side of nose as the apparent source of bright blood) and after approximately fifteen minutes the nose bleeding has stopped. Please advise me as to what may be the cause and what I should do for advice, as the incident began without any warning and stopped abruptly in approximately fifteen minutes. I take Metaprolol to control blood pressure (approximately twice a day, but not always on the same schedule.) Thank you for your response. This has occurred in the late afternoon when the holliday weekend is beginning and it may be difficult to contact a doctor.
