What Causes Sudden Onset Of Blurred Vision In Left Eye?
I was out this afternoon, driving. Stopped to get something to eat. Shortly after sitting down the vision in my left eye completely frosted over, with the exception of a small opening to the left side of my eye, maybe 1/8 . Freaked me out. After a few minutes I was able to blink it away. I could not feel any foreign object in eye. Any idea what it could have been?
It seems from the history that you are having blackouts of vision lasting for about 30 seconds. These symptoms indicate transient ischemic attack. The common causes for transient ischemic attack are retinal vascular diseases like vein and artery occlusion, as a part of migraine, carotid artery disease. This requires evaluation to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly. Hence, I advise you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
