Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am scheduled to have my tonsils removed because of over enlarged, stone issues, chronic sore throat and tonsillitis issues. Also was at the dentist last week and my wisdom teeth are pushing against my jaw bone and they are scheduled to be removed 8 weeks after the tonsils. All of the sudden my shoulder is bothering me.
The shoulder pain can be due to accidental injury that went unnoticed. Did you meet with any accident recently? It can be due to uncomfortable sleeping positions for a long time over a long period. It can be due to muscle spasm or it can be a radiating pain. Which shoulder is having the pain left or right? Is the pain radiating to back and left arm? Are you on any medications like anti-hypertensives?
Try applying local pain relieving ointment/spray and use oral pain killers like paracetamol for now. I suggest you pay a small visit to your doctor and get it checked. The doctor will suggest further appropriate strong medications depending on the cause. He also might suggest some imaging tests or blood tests. For better understanding. Also it is advisable to take sufficient rest and do less movements of the joint for fast recovery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
