What Causes Sudden Pain At The Base Of Throat Radiating Towards Right Ear?
I experienced a sudden significant pain at the base of my throat that lasted 5 to 10 mins. This pain also affected my right ear briefly. The strongest pain lasted 2-3 mins. Please give me your opinion as to what might have happened. Thank you. David frank.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sudden pain at the base of throat radiating towards right ear which is due to infection travel from throat ( because upper respiratory tract infection) to ear through Eustachian tube (connect throat to middle ear and maintain the pressure of middle ear) ,sinusitis or post nasal drip .I would suggest you to to consult ENT specialist for proper examination without any delay and to prevent the further spread of infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course at least for 5 days or mucolytic agent like ambroxol. For now do warm saline rinses several times a day ,give dry warm compresses to external ear because sometimes sound occur due to water drop in ear .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
